Guidelines for submitting an abstract

Submission, Deadline

  • Abstracts have to be submitted exclusively online.
  • Deadline for application is 25 September 2019 23:59:59 CEST.
  • Alterations and corrections may be executed previous to the deadline.

Topic, Language

  • Each contribution must relate to one of our key topics (see Call for Speakers).
  • Abstracts may be submitted and presented in German or English. The short abstract has to be submitted in English.

Size, Content

  • The abstract is limited to 3,500 characters incl. space.
  • The title should be short and meaningful (max. 100 characters including spaces). Capitalise the first word of the title, and all words within the title except articles (a/an/the), prepositions (to/on/for etc) and conjunctions (but/and/or etc).
    Example: Deep Learning for Fraud Detection and Claims Management.
  • The abstract has to include a practical use-case. It should outline the problem, describe the solution, and explain the practical value created for customers.
  • The use-case should be presented together with an internal or external client.
  • The number of authors is limited to 8 altogether. The presenter must be listed first.

Conditions, Requirements

  • The presenter is responsible for the compliance with data protection, copyright and ethics regulations as well as the laws on animal protection.
  • The Short Abstract and Presenter Details for accepted submissions will be published on our website (www.big-data.ai).
  • There are no author fees or royalties.
  • All listed authors have to give their consent to publishing their name, their company’s name as well as the abstract in our conference programme as well as on our website.

Review, Registration

  • All submitted abstracts will be reviewed by several experts.
  • Review criteria are: Inclusion of a practical use-case, involvement of an internal or external client, level of innovation, conclusiveness of the abstract, relevance of submission for the industry
  • Notifications of acceptance or refusal will be emailed to the presenters in December subsequent to the reviewing process.
  • Every accepted presenter will receive a free ticket for the Big-Data.AI Summit 2020
